Scope & Sequence - Physical Education
Below is an example of a yearly scope and sequence for middle school and high school programs. It was made with a "perfect world" in mind, meaning I had unlimited access to all sorts of equipment and resources for P.E. classes. The middle school yearly plan was designed using the entire school year versus the high school yearly plan where only a semester was planned out. I implemented a wide variety of activities ranging from an outdoor unit to an aquatics unit in hoping students find an activity they thoroughly enjoy. In the perfect P.E. world, this scope and sequence allows every student to find an activity they can continue to partake in throughout their life.

This is the State College Area School District calender for 2010 - 2011. I planned all my activities according to the dates where students may of had off such as holidays, in-service days, snow days, and emergency school closings. I had to plan my units according to the weather and school seasons so students were not outside during the cold winter months. During the fall and spring seasons, outdoor activities were planned.
